Chris Gibson for Congress Campaign Update. 8/2/2010

Dear Friends,With only 91 days left, our campaign continues to gain momentum. The last few weeks have proven that our message of fiscal responsibility and job creation is winning the hearts and minds of constituents throughout and beyond the 20th District. We have exceeded our opponent’s fundraising last quarter. We have submitted twice as many petitions. We have been promoted to “Contender” status by the NRCC. And now, the New York Times calls this race a Toss-Up!

These successes demonstrate that voters are fed-up with business-as-usual politics in Washington and are looking for a better way.  Frustrated with Congressman Scott Murphy’s votes- including the unpopular health care bill and Cap & Trade- voters throughout the 20th District are speaking out against soaring debt and the failed stimulus bill. Our campaign looks to represent the district’s constituents by reversing Murphy’s misguided voting record. Chris Gibson will work to repeal and replace the health care legislation, help the economy and  private sector grow and create jobs through fewer taxes and regulations.

We only have 91 days left to secure victory. Thanks to all your efforts, we have many achievements to be proud of. Let’s continue to tell our friends and neighbors about our campaign and encourage them to support it. On November 2nd, we will stand shoulder-to-shoulder in victory.

Thank you all for your support

The campaigns of both Murphy and Republican challenger Chris Gibson said they are working on the details of holding public debates, with nothing yet formalized.”

“The campaigns of COL (Ret.) Chris Gibson, a retired, active duty Army officer running in the New York 20th District, and Andrew “Rocky” Raczkowsky, an Army Reservist seeking the Republican nomination in the Michigan 9th, reflect the general meme of veterans of the “Long War” seeking political office. However, they also demonstrate the variety of experiences Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines have had in this “Long War.”
